Construction site supervision (GE706) provides easy-to-understand information and practical guidance for site supervisors, front line managers and owners of small construction firms on implementing, supervising and monitoring the required standards of health, safety and the environment on construction sites. It is the official reference publication for the CITB Site Safety Plus Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS), a two-day course for first line managers and supervisors.

Supervising a site brings a responsibility to protect the workforce and to remain up-to-date with legislation. Revised annually, this publication offers advice, checklists, case studies and practical guidance on what to do, as well as short, clear explanations on related legislation. A FREE to access companion website supports the publication and provides updates to the current edition along with the latest advice, guidance and links to related websites. To preview the GE706 companion website click here.

GE706 content has been reviewed and updated, where necessary, to ensure the information reflects current legislation and good practice.

GE706 follows the standard approach used across all CITB core publications. This enables easy cross-referencing between publications and will greatly assist a supervisor to prepare and deliver toolbox talks, such as those contained within our Toolbox talks (GT700) publication.
